pink morganite cabochon

pink morganite cabochon

Morganite has become very popular, since it was discovered in the last century and this has made it harder to source stones worthy of setting into jewellery. Morganite, for those not familiar with it, is a form of beryl, the more famous examples of which are emerald and aquamarine.
These cabochons are quite large 16x12mm approximately, and were purchased a few years ago by me. They are a pretty baby pink colour with nice lustre and clarity. These have been bezel set into 9 carat gold suspended on a hammered gold diamond shape, in a slightly rustic style. The total drop of these earrings is about 5 cms, finished with jump rings and earring hooks of matching 9 carat yellow gold.
